Haematine

Haematine is a hematite simulant sometimes called hemalyke, haemalike, or magnetic haematite. It was originally reported to be pressed and sintered iron oxide. Haematine is highly magnetic, whereas haematite is not. Nearly all hematite on the market (around 99%) is the man made version haematine- composed of barium-strontium ferrite. The scarcity of haematite means that it’s high cost is prohibitive to its use on a wide scale, particularly when it involves mining. Haematine has the same properties as haematite.

Haematine is said to have some health benefits due to its magnetic qualities. It is believed to give strength and to calm the mind to enhance focus and concentration. Haematine is also revered in Feng Shui practice; used for its protective force and ability to energise its wearer. A useful crystal for mental, physical and spiritual healing.
